Company History

Ad Craft of Arkansas, Inc. first opened their doors in 1958 by Gene G. McCoy II (1926-2006). Gene was an ad man from Iowa, driven south to escape the cold and snow in the mid-fifties. On his way to the "Big D", he drove his young family through Little Rock and decided to stay.

Ol' Gene was also intensely interested in politics. Some of the first clients at McCoy Advertising were political candidates. In purchasing printed campaign materials for them, Gene decided he could provide faster and more efficient service and even a better quality product for his candidates if he produced them himself. Once equipment and materials for screen printing were purchased, the company's name was changed to Ad Craft of Arkansas, Inc.

Of course "political seasons" are just that, so Gene expanded the business to include a wider variety of products such as company identification decals and signs (T-shirts were added in the mid-seventies). In 1960, Gene hired his wife, Del to help with production and do the bookkeeping for the company. The position was meant to temporary, but Del ended up staying full-time for more than 40 years. She officially retired in 2001, but she comes in whenever needed. At nearly 80, "Granny" can still pull a squeegee a couple of thousand times a day!dell

Today, the two children born in Little Rock carry on Gene and Del's legacy, Randi McCoy-Evans and Sherman McCoy. Sherman has been with the company for 30 years. Hence, he knows every step it takes to run a screen print shop and produce each of our products. Randi spent her early career years in Tampa, Florida in a variety of advertising-related jobs. She is currently head of customer relations and sales of the company. If it's not Randi answering the phone, it will most likely be Ashley McCoy-Brodnax. Ashley is Sherman's daughter and third generation McCoy at Ad Craft. As our general manager and bookkeeper, Ashley has been working all aspects of the business since just after the turn of the century.

Ad Craft's production team rounds out with Jimmy as Print Production Manager, keeping all the sign and decal orders moving. Curry is our T-shirt printing expert and also stays busy fleet marking vehicles and installing lettering on store front windows. Rick is designing our work at the art computer with help from Sherman. Theresa takes in orders, ships them out and fills in wherever else she is needed. We strive to produce your custom order in less than 10 working days. Re-orders can be turned around in 4-6 days.

For 50 years Ad Craft has been providing Arkansas with well-designed, high-quality materials with friendliest and most knowledgeable service of outdoor promotional products you can find in the state.
